As someone who has spent years as a yoga instructor and recently ventured into the world of entrepreneurship by owning my own nl salon, I have quite a few stories to share about yoga. This is not your average how-to guide or benefits of yoga article; this is more than that. In fact, this might just be the most honest advice you’ll ever hear on yoga.
When I first started atting yoga classes at a local studio years ago, my expectations were high and nve. Yoga was portrayed in every way possible as a serene practice that would calm the mind, soothe the soul and reshape your body into perfection within weeks. However, what I found wasn't quite like those visions from glossy yoga magazines.
Yes, yoga can be calming and meditative - but it's not always easy or effortless. You have to work hard for each pose; there are no shortcuts. And when you're atting classes at a yoga studio where the instructors are on commission, they might push you further than your comfort zone. I've seen people who couldn't even touch their toes do downward dog perfectly after just a few months. It was because of the pressure to perform and impress others.
That’s one thing I didn’t like about atting classes at a yoga studio: the competitive nature that see exist among students and instructors alike. The studio owners and managers expect high performance from instructors, who in turn push their students to reach higher than they're comfortable with. This is not to say that all yoga studios are like this; but my experiences have certnly been more common than you'd imagine.
After leaving the yoga world behind, I took some time for myself before stepping into a different realm: running my own nl salon. The transition wasn't easy by any means but being my own boss has given me immense satisfaction and freedom. It's not uncommon to find individuals who are passionate about yoga but struggle with mntning regular practice due to the pressures of their professional lives, similar challenges that I faced as well.
What started as a hobby for many people eventually became their full-time career or a source of income. The allure of being your own boss and offering services based on personal passions can be overwhelming initially. But it comes down to understanding what you're really passionate about and finding the right balance between your passion and responsibilities towards your livelihood.
In , while yoga might have been my first love in wellness practices, I'm grateful for stepping away from the studio scene that wasn't fulfilling enough for me personally. My experiences at the yoga studio highlighted several flaws that, in retrospect, were not aligned with my values or goals as a professional. Running my own nl salon has allowed me to nurture my entrepreneurial spirit and focus on delivering top-quality service to my clients.
So what's the takeaway? Be honest with your expectations of yoga. It requires dedication, patience, and a willingness to work hard for personal growth. Don't let unrealistic perceptions or pressure from others deter you from finding your own path in wellness. And that taking risks often leads to unexpected rewards – just like my leap into entrepreneurship.
In the , it's about finding what truly you on both physical and emotional levels, and having the courage to follow through with it despite the challenges or uncertnties ahead. After all, isn't that the whole point of yoga?
