My Journey with Yoga: A Transformational Path

Yoga has been a companion in my life since late 1992, when I was just 26 years old. Seeking to understand who I would become, I discovered this practice at the company where I worked as part of their gym facilities. After rigorous workouts like weight trning and treadmill runs, stepping into yoga classes became an oasis for me.

The first class ignited a deep-seated connection between my mind, body, and soul. Nourished by a bl of physical engagement with spirituality, it left me feeling more than just physically fit; there was a stirring within that had started the love affr with yoga in me!

I would weave time into my schedule to att yoga classes as much as I could manage. Initially, it was a post-workout rest and relaxation mode following weight trning or jogging, but soon this practice evolved into more than physical fitness for me.

The next two decades saw an explosion of knowledge as I pursued certifications in various forms of athleticism alongside my professional pursuits. As I gned expertise in Fitness and Nutrition, Zumba, Aqua Zumba, PiYo Pilates Yoga fusion, and Myofascial Release, it was apparent that yoga's influence had sparked a desire for more.

I embarked on my journey as a yoga instructor with an initial 20-hour yoga asana trning course. Shortly after, I began teaching children yoga classes at a charter school in Manhattan, marking the beginning of my journey into sharing this practice with others.

In 2018, moving to Long Island introduced me to a studio offering a comprehensive 200-hour Yoga Teacher Trning program. This intensive trning was an immersive dive that allowed me to explore the core values of yoga's philosophical paths, including synthesis and asanas, pranayama breathing techniques, meditation, devotionals, scientific principles, and karma yoga through selfless service.

Earning my YTT certification paved the path for furthering education with specialized trnings in Yin Yoga, Yoga Barre, Yoga Shred, and Mindfulness Resilience Trning MRT for Veterans. Each class offered new layers of knowledge, contributing to a growth journey that has been transformative.

Today, as an Aver, I teach Creative Vinyasa Flow, Yoga Barre, and MRT classes to veterans. Every time I step onto the mat with my 'tribe', I am reminded of the invaluable lessons I've learned during these trnings. The impact yoga has had on me transcs personal growth; it's a journey that has forever changed me into an enhanced version of myself.

In addition to being part of Avus, I also find fulfillment in empowering others through yoga and mindfulness practices.

As I reflect on my yogic journey, the harmony of voices and guidance gratitude for the experience. Namaste!
